The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 10-2 tonight at Citi Field to snap their two-game winning streak and dropped their record to 41-23.

LHP David Peterson got into immediate trouble in the top of the first after he gave up a one-out double to SS Willy Adames and then hit LF Andrew McCutchen and RF Hunter Renfroe to load the bases.

Peterson then gave up a two-run single to the following hitter 3B Luis Urias.

Peterson responded after that with scoreless innings in the top of the second and third, but ran into more trouble in the top of the fourth after he gave up singles to catcher Victor Caratini and CF Lorenzo Cain to start the inning and then got 2B Mark Mathias to ground into a double play which brought home a run.

Peterson stayed in to start the top of the fifth and gave up a lead-off single to Adames and was then taken out.

His final line was four innings, six hits, four runs, two walks and three strikeouts.

RHP Jake Reed came in next and had a rough outing allowed five runs(one was charged to Peterson) in the fifth and recorded only two outs and was unable to get out of the inning.

RHP Trevor Williams appeared next and gave up three runs before finally getting the last out in the inning.

Williams stayed in for the top of the sixth and seventh and threw two scoreless innings.

RHP Adam Ottavino threw a scoreless top of the eighth.

LHP Joely Rodriguez threw a scoreless top of the ninth.

The offense was held scoreless for the first three innings until 2B Jeff McNeil hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth.

In the bottom of the sixth, CF Brandon Nimmo led off with a triple and RF Starling Marte followed by getting hit by pitch.

Three batters later, McNeil drove in his second run of the game with a RBI single.
