The New York Mets beat the Miami Marlins 5-3 tonight at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Floria to snap their two-game losing streak and improved their record to 46-26.

SS Francisco Lindor got off the offense going in the top of the first inning against ace RHP Sandy Alcantara with a solo homer.

The bats did not do much for the next three innings until LF Mark Canha hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth.

In the top of the sixth, catcher Tomas Nido led off with an infield single and CF Brandon Nimmo followed with a bunt single.

RF Starling Marte then came up and hit a grounder to second, but 2B Willians Astudillo failed to tag Nimmo out at second with the ball in his glove and was unable to throw Nimms out at first.

Originally the second base umpire incorrectly ruled Nimmo out at second, but after the review, the call was overturned.

Lindor came up with the bases loaded and no out and broke the game open with a three-run double to clear the bases.

RHP Taijuan Walker got off to a tough start in the bottom of the first after he gave up a lead-off single to SS Jon Berti and after picking off Berti at first, he then gave up singles to 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr and LF Jorge Soler.

Walker then gave up a RBI single to DH Garrett Cooper, but escaped further trouble after he got 1B Jesus Aguilar to ground into a double play to end the inning.

Walker settled down after that with scoreless innings in the bottom of the second, third and fourth, but in the bottom of the fifth, he gave up singles to Berti and Chisholm Jr and then a RBI ground-out to Soler to tie the game.

Walker recovered after that with a scoreless bottom of the sixth,  and in the bottom of the seventh he gave up a lead-off single to catcher catcher Jacob Stallings and was then taken out.

His final line was six innings, eight hits, three runs, two walks and five strikeouts and he picked up his sixth win.

RHP Drew Smith came in next and walked 3B Luke Williams and Berti, but then came back to strike out Astudillo and Soler.

Smith then walked Cooper to load the bases with two outs and was taken out.

RHP Adam Ottavino followed and retired Aguilar on a fly-out to end the inning.

Ottavino stayed in for the bottom of the eighth and threw a scoreless innings.

RHP Edwin Diaz came on in the bottom of the ninth and threw a scoreless inning to pick up his 15th save of the season.

The Mets next game is at Marlins tomorrow afternoon, Saturday June 25th at 4:10 p.m.
