Mets Beat Rockies 1-0 Behind a Dominating Performance by Marcus Stroman

The New York Mets beat the Colorado Rockies 1-0 this afternoon at home in the first game of their doubeleheader in a seven inning game and improved their record to 23-20. The offense didn't do much expect for 2B Jose Peraza who hit a solo homer in the bottom of the second inning. RHP Marcus Stroman had an outstanding start throwing six scoreless innings. Stroman gave up two walks and had three strikeouts. He was in command all afternoon with his fastball, slider and change-up. He picked up his fourth win and lowered his ERA to 2.47. RHP Edwin Diaz closed it out with a scoreless top of the seventh inning and picked up his ninth save. The Mets next game against the Rockies is a 1/2 hour after the first game.
