Mets Acquire Outfielder Cameron Maybin from Cubs for Cash Considerations

The New York Mets acquired outfielder Cameron Maybin from the Chicago Cubs tonight for cash considerations. Maybin hit .103 at Triple-A in the 2021 season, but hit .247 between the Cubs and Detriot Tigers last season. He had previously played for the Tigers, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Cleveland Indians, and New York Yankees in his 14-year Major League career. Maybin will provide some depth to the outfield and a veteran presence off the bench. The Mets announced he has been assigned to Triple-A Syracuse for now, but he will get called up to the Majors soon.
