Mets Fire Hitting Coaches Chili Davis and Tom Slater

The New York Mets announced tonight after their game against the Cardinals that they fired hitting coach Chili Davis and assistant hitting coach Tom Slater.
Minor League Director of hitting development Hugh Quattlebaum will take over as hitting coach and director of player development Kevin Howard will take over as assistant hitting coach.
The Mets are 27th in the National League in runs and last in home runs in NL with 17.
Davis was hired by the Mets prior to the 2019 season.
Slater served as the assistant hitting coach since 2018.
