The New York Mets beat the Toronto Blue Jays 18-1 tonight for their second consecutive win and improved their record to 21-24. The offense was held scoreless for the first two innings against RHP Chase Anderson until the top of the third inning after catcher Wilson Ramos lead off with a double and CF Brandon Nimmo followed with a single. RF Michael Conforo then came up and delivered with a three-run homer. 3B J.D. Davis walked and 1B Dom Smith struck out and 2B Robinson Cano singled. 1B Pete Alonso struck out, but LF Jeff McNeil hit a bloop double that was lost in the lights which brought in another run. In the top of the fourth inning, Ramos and Conforto started it off with walks and Nimmo singled to load the bases. Davis then hit a ground-ball to SS Santiago Espanal who threw home, but catcher Danny Jansen dropped the ball which allowed Ramos to score. Smith then came up and broke the game open with a grand slam. Cano followed with a single and two batters later, McNeil singled and SS Andres Gimenez was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Catcher Wilson Ramos then hit a bases clearing double to increase the score 12-1. Conforto hit a RBI single later in the inning and Davis drove in Conforto with a RBI double for the tenth run in the top of the fourth.  After a scoreless top of the fifth and sixth innings, Conforo reached on an error by Espanal in the top of the seventh and Davis and Smith followed with singles. Cano then drew a based loaded walk and McNeil later hit a RBI ground-out. In the top of the eighth inning Ramos capped out his night at the plate with a solo homer for his 4th RBI. SS Andres Gimenez added a RBI double in the top of the ninth.

RHP Jacob deGrom gave up a single to CF Randall Grichuk and a RBI double to 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr in the bottom of the first inning, but settled down after that. DeGrom didn't allow more runs from the bottom of the second-sixth inning and wasn't affected after he had a long wait to come out in the bottom of the fifth due to all the run support. He had great life on his fastball at 100 mph along with a sharp slider and change-up even though he didn't have his best stuff at times. He was taken out after the bottom of the sixth with 102 pitches. His final line was 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. He picked up his fourth win and lowered his ERA to 1.67. RHP Erasmo Ramirez came in next and threw scoreless innings in the bottom of the seventh, eighth and ninth innings to close it out and picked up his first save.

The Mets next game is at the Blue Jays tomorrow night at 6:37 p.m.
