CF Jake Marisnik followed with an RBI single. LF Jeff McNeil hit an RBI double to bring in Alonso with two outs and later in the inning Marisnik scored on a passed ball. Davis walked and Conforto capped off his stellar day with a RBI single, his fifth RBI of the game.

RHP Michael Wacha started out well with a 1-2-3 bottom of the first inning, but ran into trouble in the bottom of the second inning. Wacha gave up a triple to catcher Pedro Severino  after Marisnik crashed into the centerfield wall. LF Ryan Mountcastle then hit a RBI single.  Two batters later, 2B Pat Valiaka hit a single and then walked SS Andrew Valazquez to load the bases.  He hit CF Cedric Mullins to bring in tying run, but was able to get out of the inning with the game tied. Wacha threw a scoreless bottom of the third and was taken out after the inning. His final line was 3 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. LHP David Peterson came in next and threw four scoreless innings in relief in the bottom of the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Peterson gave up 2 hits and 2 walks and 1 strikeouts. He picked up his fourth win and lowered his ERA to 3.03.  RHP Miguel Castro followed in his Met debut and threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. LHP Justin Wilson came on in the bottom of the ninth and gave up singles to Valiakak and Valasquez and after two strikeouts, he gave up a two-run single to DH Jose Iglesias that was helped out by throwing errors by Wilson and Alonso. Wilson came back to strike out former Met 1B Dilson Herrera to end the game.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon at home at Citi Field in a make-up game against the Yankees at 4:10 p.m.
