Mets RHP Freddy Peralta started out well with two scoreless innings, but then it all unraveled for him in the top of the third.
Peralta gave up a lead-off walk to 3B Nolan Gorman and then a double to the following hitter CF Nathan Church.
Peralta gave up a two-run single to the next hitter 2B JJ Wetherholt. Peralta then hit DH Ivan Herrera and struck out 1B Alec Burleson, but then gave up a RBI double to RF Jordan Walker.
Peralta then gave a RBI ground-out to LF Lars Nootbaar.
Peralta stayed in and had a scoreless top of the fourth and gave up a two-run homer to Burleson in the top of the fifth.
Peralta had a scoreless top of he sixth and was taken out after the inning.
His final line was six innings, six hits, six runs, two walks and five strikeouts.
RHP Joey Gerber came in next in the top of the seventh and gave up a RBI double to Burleson and stayed in for the top of the eighth and threw a scoreless inning.
LHP Cionel Perez followed and threw a scoreless top of the ninth.
The Met offense had their best chance to score in the bottom of the fourth with runners on first and second and two outs, but then 2B Marcus Semien hit a 401 feet fly ball to deep center field, and Church made an outstanding basket catch to save two runs.
The offense went 0-3 with runners in scoring position leaving five runners on base.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Wednesday, June 10 at home against the Cardinals at 7:10 p.m.
