In the top of the sixth, 2B Marcus Semien singled with one out and advanced to second on an error by Steer.

Two batters later, pinch-hitter Mark Vientos came through with a two-run homer,

In the top of the eighth, they had another scoring opportunity after Semien and Baty walked to start off the inning, but then Vientos and catcher Francisco Alvarez struck out and Benge grounded out to end the inning.
