After a scoreless top of the first, 1B Jared Young homered to lead off the top of the second.
In the top of the third, catcher Luis Torrens doubled with one out and two batters later, SS Bo Bichette drove in Torrens with a RBI triple.
In the top of the fifth, 3B Brett Baty singled to lead off the top of the fifth and two batters later, Torrens came through again with a two-run homer.
In the top of the ninth, CF A.J. Ewing singled with one out in the inning and then stole second. Two batters later, Baty drove in Ewing with a RBI single.
RHP Christian Scott had a fine start throwing 5.2 scoreless innings allowing three singles and two walks with three strikeouts. He threw a season-high 98 pitches (67 strikes). Scott picked up his second consecutive win after he won his first career game in his previous start. He lowered his ERA to 2.50.
RHP Huascar Brazoban followed and picked up last out in the bottom of the sixth and stayed in for the bottom of the seventh and threw a scoreless inning.
RHP Luke Weaver came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.
LHP A.J. Minter closed it out with a scoreless bottom of the ninth.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Saturday, June 6 at the Padres at 10:10 p.m.
