The New York Mets lost to the St. Louis Cardinals 9-2 tonight at Citi Field for their second consecutive loss and dropped their record to 29-38.

Mets RHP Austin Warren got the start as an "opener" and struggled in the top of the first allowing two runs on two hits and two walks with one strikeout.

LHP David Peterson came in next in the top of the second and threw a scoreless inning, but then gave up a two-run homer to LF to Nelson Velaquez in the top of the top of the third.

It all imploded for Peterson in the top of the fourth after he gave up a three-run homer to DH Jordan Walker.

Peterson gave up another run in the top of the fifth after he gave up a RBI single to 3B Jose Femin in the top of the fifth and was then taken out.

Peterson's final line was 3.2 innings, seven hits, six runs, two walks and one strikeout.

LHP Cionel Perez came in next and threw 1.1 scoreless innings.

RHP Jonathan Pintaro followed and gave up one run in three innings.

The Met offense did not do much against RHP Jonathan Pallante outside of a two-run homer by catcher Francisco Alvarez in the bottom of the fourth.

They had only three hits the entire game and went 0-6 with runners in scoring position.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, June 11 at home against the Cardinals at 1:10 p.m.
