Mets James McCann (Photo Credits to Andy Marlin-USA Today Sports) The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 3-0 tonight at Citi Field for their second cosecutive loss and dropped their record to 37-31. RHP Marcus Stroman had a scoreless top of the first inning, but in the top of the second inning, he grabbed his left side after a pitch to 3B Austin Riley and pulled up lame. He tried to throw some warm-up pitches, but was wincing and then came out of the game. RHP Yennsy Diaz had to come in and worked out of a based loaded jam with no outs after he came back to strike out CF Ender Inciarte, RHP Charlie Morton and RF Ronald Acuna Jr to end the inning. Diaz came back out for the top of third inning, but had a difficult inning this time and gave up a three-run homer to SS Dansby Swanson. RHP Drew Smith followed with two scoreless innings in the top of the fourth and fifth. LHP Aaron Loup came in next and did a stellar job with three scoreless innings in the top of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. RHP Trevor May threw a scoreless top of the ninth inning. The offense only had two hits and they one hit through the first 8.2 innings. It was the fourth time they have been shut out in the last 8 games. The Mets next game is tomorrow night at home against the Braves at 7:10 p.m.
