New York Mets LHP Thomas Szapucki has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse prior to tonigh's game at the Atlanta Braves.
Szapucki is the Mets 10th ranked prospect and a fifth round draft pick had had a difficult season with a 4.41 ERA in 8 starts this season.
He has pitched in 47 games at the minor league level due to a variety of injuries including Tommy John surgery.
RHP Jered Eickoff has been desiginated for assignment as corresponding roster move.
He went 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in two starts.
