New York Mets LHP Joey Lucchesi will undergo season-ending Tommy John Surgery on Thursday after an MRI revealed he had a significant UCL tear.
Lucchesi was placed on the 10-Day IL on Saturday with elbow inflammation.
He was pitching well in his last seven starts with a 2.28 ERA and 29 strikeouts.
His overall record was 1-4 with a 4.46 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 41 strikeouts in 38.1 innings.
