Mets Acquire Marcus Stroman

The New York Mets acquired RHP Marcus Stroman from the Toronto Blue Jays today in exchange for minor league pitching prospects LHP Anthony Kay and RHP Simeon Woods Richardson. The Mets will also  be receiving $2.5 million from the Blue Jays which will negate the remainder of Strolman's contract for the rest of the year. Kay has a 3.13 ERA in 97.2 innings between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse. Richardson has a 4.25 ERA, 97 strikeouts and 17 walks in 78.1 innings with Single-A Columbia. 

Stroman is from Medford, New York and has a 2.96 ERA over 21 starts for the Blue Jays this year with 99 strikeouts and 35 walks in 124.2 innings this year.
