Mets vs. Cubs Game 146 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Chicago Cubs 14-6 to get swept in the three-game series and dropped their record to 63-83. RHP Seth Lugo had a rough outing and was unable to go past three innings. Lugo gave up eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits in three innings. He gave up one walk and had four strikeouts. LHP Josh Smoker came in next and allowed one run and one inherited run  with three strikeouts in two innings. LHP Jerry Blevins followed and gave up two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and recorded two outs. RHP Paul Sewald had to appear next to get the last out in the bottom the sixth inning, but gave up three runs. RHP Chris Flexen pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning. RHP Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning.

3B Asdrubal Cabrera drove in the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning. 2B Jose Reyes hit a RBI single in the top of the second inning. LF Brandon Nimmo hit a RBI double in the top of the second. 1B Dominic Smith hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud followed with a solo homer. Catcher Tomas Nido hit a RBI single in the top of the ninth inning, his first major league hit and RBI.

Injury News:
Catcher Travis d'Arnaud left the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with a twisted knee.
Shortstop Amed Rosario also left the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with a tight hip flexor.
