The New York Mets defeated the Atlanta Braves 7-3 tonight to snap their five-game losing streak and improved their record to 64-84. CF Juan Lagares drove in the first run of the game with a RBI single in the top of the second inning. 2B Gavin Cecchini followed with an RBI double. LF Brandon Nimmo hit a RBI double in the top of the third inning. 3B Asdrubal Cabrera also followed with a RBI double. Cecchini drove in another run in the top of the fourth inning with an RBI double and had the best game of his career with three hits and two RBI's. 1B Dominic Smith hit a two-run double in the top of the seventh inning.
RHP Jacob deGrom had a stellar outing giving up one run on five hits in seven innings. DeGrom picked up his 15th win of the season. RHP Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. RHP A.J. Ramos gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.
