The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 3-2 tonight for their fifth consecutive loss and dropped their record to 63-84. RHP Rafael Montero started out well with four scoreless innings, but struggled in the bottom of the fifth inning. Montero left with the based loaded and two outs. He gave up three runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings. Montero had six strikeouts and two walks. After he was taken out, RHP Chasen Bradford got the last out in the bottom of the fifth inning and the first out in the top of the sixth inning. LHP Tommy Milone recorded the last two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, LHP Jerry Blevins pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning. RHP Paul Sewald pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning.
SS Jose Reyes drove in the first run of the game with an RBI ground-out in the top of the third inning. 1B Dominic Smith hit a RBI double in the top of the fourth inning.
