Mets Sign Nori Aoki

The New York Mets announced today that they have signed outfielder Nori Aoki and will be eligible to play in the second game of a doubleheader tonight. Aoki previously played for the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays before being released on August 28. He has hit .274 with five homers and 27 RBI in 83 games this year. Aoki is a lifetime .285 hitter.  He will help the Mets a lot since they have been needing to sign to an outfielder after trading Curtis Granderson and Jay Bruce and have forced infielders Jose Reyes and Matt Reynolds to play out of position.  Aoki will be able to play left and right field.
