Mets vs. Rockies Game 104 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Colorado Rockies 6-4 today to snap their 4 game losing streak and improve their record to 54-50. They are now 6.5 games out of first place in the National League East. 2B Neil Walker had 4 RBI's with a triple and a game-winning three run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. His bat has caught fire recently after he was in a long slump for a couple of months. CF Aledandro De Aza hit an RBI single. In addition to Walker, he has been on fire and has hit well for last few weeks. He needs to continue to hit in Yoenis Cespedes's absence. Hopefully this can be the game to get the Mets offense going on.

RHP Noah Syndergarrd picked up a no-decision after he allowed 3 runs in 6 innings on 6 hits. He had six strikeouts and gave up 2 walks. LHP Jerry Blevins gave up a run in the top of the seventh inning, but he picked up his fourth win of the season. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless eighth inning. RHP Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless ninth inning and picked up his 37th save of the season.
