Mets vs. Phillies Game 90 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 tonight to drop their record to 48-42. They are now 7 games behind the Washington Nationals for first place in the National League East. RHP Logan Verrett allowed 2 runs in 6 innings. He allowed 8 hits and one walk. He had 4 strikeouts. He picked up a no-decision.  RHP Hansel Robles gave up an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh inning, due to an error by SS Asdrubal Cabrera. RHP Erik Goedell allowed a run in the bottom of th eighth.

The Mets offense struggled all nigh to get a timely hit with runners in scoring position and manged to scored just 2 runs. SS Jose Reyes drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud also drove in a run on a sacrifice run.
