Mets vs. Phillies Game 89 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 tonight to improve their record to 48-41. They remain 6 games behind the Washington Nationals for first place in the National League East. CF Juan Lagares had an outstanding with a solo home run, 2 walks and 2 runs scored. 2B Neil Walker hit a 3 run homer.  3B Jose Reyes scored on an RBI groundout.

RHP Bartolo Colon allowed 3 unearned runs in 5 2/3 innings. He retired the first 13 batters he faced. He gave up 2 walks and had 4 strikeouts. He picked up his eighth win of the season. RHP Hansel Robles came in after Colon was taken out and got the last out in the bottom of the fifth. He also got the first out in the bottom of the seventh. LHP Jerry Blevins and RHP Addison Reed combined to get the last 2 outs in the seventh. Reed stayed in and pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. RHP Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless ninth inning and picked up his 32th save.
