Mets vs. Cubs Game 94 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Chicago Cubs 6-2 today to fall to a record of 51-42 and lose the series two games to one. They are now 6 games behind the Washington Nationals for first place in the National League East. RHP Bartolo Colon had a rough outing and allowed 6 runs in 4 1/3 innings. He gave up 8 hits, 2 walks and also allowed a hit by pitch. He struggled right off the bat after he gave up a 2 run single to SS Addison Russel in the first inning as well as two homers by first baseman Anthony Rizzo. It was clear he didn't have it and had a lot of trouble dealing with the Cubs powerful lineup in hitter friendly Wrigley Field. Hopefully Colon is able to bounce back in his next start,

The Mets offense had several opportunities to score with runners in scoring position, but were only able to score 2 runs on a 2 run homer by 3B Wilmer Flores.
