Mets Recall Kevin Plawecki from Triple-A And Activate Tommy Millone Off Of The Disabled List

The New York Mets have recalled catcher Kevin Plawecki from Triple-A Las Vegas and activated LHP Tommy Millone off of the disabled list after catcher Rene Rivera was claimed off waivers from the Chicago Cubs and OF Curtis Granderson was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Plawecki hit .125 in the Majors this year and .328 with nine homers and 45 RBI in 247 at-bats in 174 at-bats in the minor leagues. Millone pitched in nine games (six starts) for the Mets this year with a 1-2 record and a 7.91 ERA.

Mets Trade Curtis Granderson to Dodgers

The New York Mets have traded OF Curtis Granderson to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In addition to trading Granderson to the Dodgers, the Mets will be giving the Dodgers cash and will be receiving cash or a player to be named later in return. He played 573 games for the Mets he hit .239 with 95 home runs, 106 doubles, 12 triples, and 27 stolen bases. Granderson has played in 150 or more games in each of the last three years. He has become a very popular player here in New York for his exceptional play on the field and his positive attitude and work in the community off the field and won the Roberto Clemente Award last year. I wish Granderson all the best with Dodgers and I would love to see earn a World Series ring. He was a wonderful Met for the last four year who gave everything he had each and every day. I loved his attitude and how he was always engaging with the fans and media. I will miss Grandy, but he sure gave me so many amazing memories to look back on and remember fondly.
