RHP Kodai Senga started out well with a 1-2-3 top of the first, but then ran into trouble in the top of the second. Senga gave up a hit by pitch and walk and two batters later, gave up a RBI single to DH Tyler Johnston.
It fell apart for Senga in the top of the third after he gave up a lead-off single to 2B Edouard Julien and then a two-run homer to the following hitter to catcher Hunter Goodman.
Senga gave up a walk to the following hitter and after two outs, gave up another walk and was then taken out.
His final line was 2.2 innings, three hits, three runs, three walks and one strikeout.
RHP Carl Edwards Jr. followed and stabilized the bullpen with 3.1 scoreless innings.
RHP Luke Weaver came in next and threw a scoreless top of the seventh.
LHP Brooks Raley followed and threw a scoreless top of the eighth.
RHP Devin Williams threw a scoreless top of the ninth.
The Mets offense had another difficult day and were unable to come any timely hits with men on base.
They went 0-6 with runners in scoring position leaving seven runners on base.
The Mets are off tomorrow and return back to action on Tuesday, April 28 at home against the Washington Nationals at 7:10 p.m.
