His final line was 3.1 innings, seven runs (six earned runs), three walks and three strikeouts.

RHP Huascar Brazoban came in next and gave up infield hits to Hoerner and Busch and then was let down by his defense later in the inning after 1B Brett Baty booted a routine grounder to allow another run to score.

LHP Sean Manaea followed with two scoreless innings in the bottom of the fifth and sixth and then gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh and a two-run homer to LF Ian Happ in the bottom of the eighth.

The Met offense had a better performance today offensively and broke out for three runs in the top of the second on a RBI double by 2B Marcus Semian and a two-run single by LF Tyrone Taylor. Prior to that, they had scored three runs in their last 29 innings.

In the top of the eighth, SS Francisco Lindor led off with an infield hit and CF Luis Robert Jr followed with a RBI double.
