The Mets offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first after SS Francisco Lindor led off with a single and then 3B Bo Bichette followed with a single and then DH Jorge Polanco reached on an infield hit to load the bases.
CF Luis Robert Jr then struck out, but RF Brett Baty followed by driving in Lindor with a sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the second, catcher Francisco Alvarez walked with two outs and then Lindor followed by driving in Alvarez with a RBI double.
The offense did not do much for the next five innings until the bottom of the eighth after Polanco led off with a single and was replaced by Tyrone Taylor as pinch runner. Robert then struck out, but Baty came through once again with a single to advance Taylor to third. Pinch-hitter Jared Young followed by driving in Taylor with a sacrifice fly to tie the game.
After a scoreless bottom of the ninth, third baseman Bo Bichette grounded out to second to lead off the bottom of the tenth which advanced ghost runner Francisco Lindor to third.
Pinch-hitter Ronny Mauricio came up next and drove in Lindor with a walk-off RBI single.
RHP Freddy Peralta had four scoreless innings and then retired the next first two hitters in the top of the fifth, gave up a single, walk and hit by pitch and was then taken out due to a high pitch count of 101 pitches.
RHP Huascar Brazoban came in next and and originally it was ruled that he struck out DH Adrian Del Castillo on a 1-2 pitch, but the ABS challenge overturned the call and then Brazoban gave up a two-run tying single. Brazoban then gave up a RBI single to 3B Nolan Arenado.
Peralta's final line was 4.2 innings, three hits, three runs, three walks and five strikeouts.
RHP Luis Garcia followed and threw two scoreless innings in the top of the sixth and seventh.
LHP Brooks Raley threw a scoreless top of the eighth.
RHP Devin Williams threw a scoreless top of the ninth.
RHP Luke Weaver threw a scoreless top of the tenth and picked up his first win.
The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, April 8 at home against the Diamondbacks at 4:10 p.m.
