RHP Nolan McLean dominated through the first five innings with five perfect innings with his fastball and sweeper, but then ran into trouble in the top of the sixth.
McLean gave up a lead-off single to RF Matt Wallner and after retiring the next two hitters, gave up a two-run homer to CF Bryon Buxton.
McLean came back out for the top of the seventh and had a strikeout to start the inning and then gave up a double to 1B Kody Clemens and then a RBI single to 2B Luke Keaschall and was then taken out.
McLean's final line was 6.2 innings, five hits, three runs, 0 walks and 10 strikeouts.
RHP Husacar Brazoban came in next and picked up the last out in the inning.
Brazoban stayed in for the top of the eighth and had a 1-2-3 innng.
RHP Devin Williams came on in the top of the ninth and got into immediate trouble with back-to-backs walks and then gave up an infield hit where 1B Mark Vientos threw to third to try to get the out instead of going to first.
Williams gave up a RBI single and a based loaded walk and was then taken out.
RHP Austin Warren came on and had a dominating performance striking out the side.
The Met offense did not do much outside of the bottom of the third when Vientos led off with a single and after CF Carson Benge grounded into a fielder's choice, Benge stole second and 2B Marcus Semian walked.
SS Francisco Lindor followed with a three-run homer.
In the bottom of the fourth, RF Brett Baty singled and Vientos walked, but the Met offense was shut down after that and the last 14 hitters were retired.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Wednesday, April 22 at home against the Twins at 7;10 p.m.
