RHP Clay Holmes had a scoreless bottom of the first and then gave up a two-run homer to SS Heysong Kim in the bottom of the second.
Holmes was able to settle down after that and had scoreless innings in the bottom of the third, fourth anf fifth and was then taken out.
His final line was five innings, four hits, two runs, one walk and four strikeouts.
RHP Tobias Myers came in next in the bottom of the sixth and gave up a solo homer to LF Teoscar Hernandez.
Myers stayed in for the bottom of the seventh and threw a scoreless inning.
RHP Devin Williams came on in the bottom of the eighth and got into immediate trouble loading the bases with two hits and a walk and then gave up a grand slam to DH Dalton Rushing and was taken out.
RHP Adam Warren followed and gave up a solo homer to RF Kyle Tucker.
The Met offense did not do much against RHP Shohei Ohtani outside of a RBI double by D.H. M.J. Melendez in the top of the fifth.
In the top of the ninth, second basemen Marcus Semian added a RBI double.
The Met offense went 2-10 runners in scoring position leaving six runners on base.
The Mets are off tomorrow and return back to action on Friday, April 17 at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs at 2:20 p.m.
