The New York Mets lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-1 tonight at Citi Field to lose two out of three games in the series and dropped their record to 7-6.

RHP Nolan McLean started out well with a 1-2-3 top of the first and worked around a one-out double in the top of the second.

McLean had another 1-2-3 top of the third and was able to induce a double play grounder in the top of the fourth.

McLean's dominance continued with two more strikeouts in the top of the fifth and two more in the top of the sixth.

However, in the top of the seventh, McLean gave up a lead-off walk and then a single to 3B Jose Fernandez and was then taken out.

RHP Luke Weaver came in next and gave up a RBI double that RF Brett Baty misplayed and could have caught. Weaver was then let down by his defense once again after 1B Mark Vientos made a poor throw home which allowed the go-ahead run to score.

Weaver gave up a sacrifice fly to the following hitter LF Tim Tawa and a RBI triple to RF Jorge Barrosa.

RHP Luis Garcia came on in the top of the eighth and gave up three runs on a RBI double by DH Adrian Del Castillo, a RBI ground-out to Fernandez and a RBI double to catcher Gabriel Moreno and was then taken out.

LHP Richard followed and picked up the last two outs in the top of the eighth and had a scoreless top of the ninth.

The Met offense did not do much outside of a solo homer by CF Luis Robert Jr in the bottom of the first.

They had six hits went 0-5 with runners in scoring position and left seven runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Friday, April 10 opening up a three-games series at home against the Athletics at 7:10 p.m.
