The New York Mets lost to the Athletics 1-0 this afternoon at Citi Field to be swept in their three-game series and fifth consecutive loss overall to drop their record to 7-9.

RHP Freddy Peralta had two scoreless innings and then gave up a solo homer to 1B Nick Kurtz in the top of the third.

Peralta did not allow any more runs and had his best start of the season allowing one run on four hits in six innings. He gave up three walks with six strikeouts on 100 pitches (64 strikes). It was the first time he has completed six innings this season. Peralta lowered his ERA to 3.86.

LHP Sean Manaea followed  in relief in a piggyback situation and had three dominant scoreless innings in the top of the seventh, eighth and ninth innings retiring all nine hitters he faced with four strikeouts.

The Met offense did not much all game and wasted their best scoring opportunity in the bottom of the sixth after catcher Luis Torrens led off with a single and two batters later, SS Francisco Lindor singled. However, DH Jorge Polanco then grounded into a force out and pinch-hitter Mark Vientos flew out to end the innning.

They had only four hits all game and went 0-3 with runners in scoring position.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Monday, April 13 at the Los Angeles Dodgers at 10:10 p.m.
