The Met offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first after 3B Bo Bichette led off with a homer.
The offense did not have a hit again until the bottom of the fourth after LF M.J. Melendez singled with one out. 1B Mark Vientos and RF Brett Baty followed with walks to load the bases and then 2B Marcus Semien hit a grounder until 3B Jorbit Vivas glove, which allowed two runs to score.
CF Carson Benge came up next and delivered a two-run single.
Bichette followed with a sacrifice fly.
DH Juan Soto came up next and broke the game open with a two-run homer to left-center field.
RHP Clay Holmes had another outstanding start with six scoreless innings. He gave up three hits and one walk with six strikeouts
Holmes picked up his third win and lowered his ERA to 1.75.
RHP Tobias Myers followed with two scoreless innings in the top of the seventh and eighth.
RHP Craig Kimbrel closed it out with a dominant top of the ninth striking out the side.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Wednesday, April 29 at home against the Nationals at 7:10 p.m.
