The New York Mets traded for San Francisco Giants reliever RHP Tyler Rogers for pitching prospect RHP Blaine Tidwell, outfield prospect Drew Gilbert and RHP reliever Jose Butto.

Rogers is a submariner side-armer  and has had a stellar season.

He has a 1.80 ERA and 0.86 WHIP and 38 strikeouts in 50.0 innings in 53 games.

Rodgers has been one of the best relievers since his rookie year in the 2019 season with a 2.79 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 396.2 innings.

He is the second reliever that the Mets have acquired this last week after they acquired Orioles LHP Gregory Soto.

With the additions of Soto and Rodgers, the back end of the bullpen is much stronger along with RHP Reed Garrett, RHP Ryne Stanek and LHP Brooks Raley as the bridge to closer RHP Edwin Diaz as they head into the last two months of the season and into October.
