The New York Mets beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-3 tonight at Citi Field in the second game of a doubleheader to snap their four-game losing streak and improved their record to 49-38.

After a scoreless bottom of the first, 3B Brett Baty and SS Ronny Mauricio walked with two outs in the bottom of the second.

Catcher Hayden Senger then hit a high chopper back to Brewers starter RHP Jacob Misiorowksi and then took a bad hop and never reached 2B Brice Torang to allow Senger to reach first for an infield hit and load the bases.

LF Brandon Nimmo came up next and delivered one of the biggest hits of the season with a grand slam to right field.

SS Francisco Lindor followed with a solo homer to give him and Nimmo back-to-back homers.

In the bottom of the second, Mauricio led off with another walk and Senger followed with a sacrifice fly.

Nimmo then grounded out to first which allowed Mauricio to advance to third and Lindor delivered once again with a RBI single.

In the bottom of the eighth, Senger walked with one out and was replaced by pinch-runner Travis Jankowski.

Two batters later, Lindor capped off his stellar night at the plate with a RBI double to score Jankowskis for his third RBI of the game.

RHP Huascar Brazoban got the start as an "opener" and threw a scoreless top of the first and then came out.

RHP Blaine Tidwell followed and did an outstanding job throwing scoreless innings in the top of the second, third, fourth and fifth.

Tidwell stayed in for the top of the sixth, but then gave up back-to-back homers to LF Christian Yelich and CF Jackson Chourio and two batters later, gave up a single to 1B Rhys Hoskins and was taken out.

RHP Dedniel Nunez came in next and allowed a single to 3B Anthony Seigler and a RBI groud-out to SS Junior Ortiz, but came back to strike out catcher Eric Haase to end the inning.

LHP Richard Lovelady followed with a scoreless top of the eighth.

RHP Ryne Stanek picked up the first two outs in the top of the eighth and was then taken out with two runners on and two outs after he gave up a single and walk.

RHP Edwin Diaz came on and picked up the biggest out of the game after he struck out pinch-hitter Jake Bauers to end the inning.

Diaz stayed in for the top of the ninth and picked up two more strikeouts as part of a 1-2-3 inning to close it out and picked up his 17th save of the season.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Thursday, July 3 at home against the Brewers at 7:10 p.m.
