The New York Mets beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-3 this afternoon at Citi Field to complete three-game series and fourth consecutive win overall to improve their record to 59-44.

The Met offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first after LF Brandon Nimmo led off with a homer.

After a scoreless bottom of the second, CF Tyrone Taylor led off the bottom of the third with a walk and Nimmo followed with a hit by pitch.

SS Francisco Lindor followed by breaking out of his 0-31 slump with a RBI single.

Two batters later, 1B Pete Alonso broke the game open with a three-run homer.

In the bottom of the fourth, 3B Mark Vientos led off with a double and three batters later, Nimmo singled.

Lindor came up next and delivered another RBI single.

LHP Sean Manaea had a dominating top of the first striking out the side and then worked out of a based loaded jam in the top of the second.

Manaea gave up a solo homer to DH Mike Trout in the top of the third, but other than that was sharp.

Manaea's final line was five innings, two hits, one run, two walks and five strikeouts.

He picked up his first win and lowered his ERA to 2.19.

RHP Huascar Brazoban followed with a scoreless top of the sixth.

RHP Jose Butto came in next in the top of the seventh after returning from an illness, but had a difficult outing allowed two runs on three hits  and retired only two out of the five hitters he faced.

LHP Brooks Raley followed and picked up the last out in the top of the seventh.

Raley stayed in for the top of the eighth and picked up the first two outs and was then taken out.

RHP Edwin Diaz came on and got the last out in the top of the eighth.

Diaz stayed in for the top of the ninth and picked up the last three outs for a four-out save and 21st save of the season.

The Mets are off tomorrow and return back to action on Friday, July 25 on the West Coast at the San Francisco Giants at 10:15 p.m.
