The New York Mets acquired LHP Gregory Soto from the Baltimore Orioles for pitching prospects Wellington Areacena and Cam Foster.

Soto has a 3.96 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP and 10.9 K/9 in 36 1/3 innings this season.

His main pitchers are a sinker and slider combination with a four-seam fastball and sweeper.

His primary pitch is his sinker which he throws 51 % of the time and his slider at 35%.

His sinker is an average of 96.5 mph, slider 86.6 mph and four-seam fastball at almost 98 mph.

Soto was a two-time All-Star with the Detriot Tigers back in 2021 and 2022 as a closer where he had 48 saves in those two seasons.

He will paired up with LHP Brooks Raley as the Mets two lefty options out of the bullpen.

It will be interesting to see what other moves General Manager David Stearns makes between now and July 31st to address the bullpen.
