The Met offense was held scoreless for the first four innings, but came alive in the bottom of the fifth.
2B Brett Baty doubled with two outs and then catcher Francisco Alvarez followed with a game-tying two-run homer.
3B Ronny Mauricio followed with a single and stole second and then LF Brandon Nimmo followed with the game-winning RBI single.
RHP Frankie Montas had a scoreless top of the first helped out by RF Juan Soto throwing out 1B Nolan Schanuel at home and then gave up a solo homer to RF Jorge Soler in the top of the second.
Montas had scoreless innings in the top of the third and fourth and then ran into trouble in the top of the fifth after giving up two doubles and a walk which lead to run.
Montas was able to escape out of a based loaded jam to limit the damage without allowing any more runs.
Montas came back out for the top of the sixth and had back-to-back strikeouts and gave up a single and was then taken out.
His final line was 5.2 innings, eight hits, two runs, two walks and six strikeouts.
He picked up his third win and lowered his ERA to 4.62.
RHP Rico Garcia came in next and got the last out in the top of the sixth and the first two outs in the top of the seventh and was then taken out.
RHP Reed Garrett followed and picked up the last out in the top of the seventh and threw a scoreless top of the eighth.
RHP Ryne Stanek closed it out with a scoreless top of the ninth and picked up his third save of the season.
The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, July 23 at home against the Angels at 1:10 p.m.
