Mets Shutout By Brewers 6-0 As Offense Continues To Struggle

The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 6-0 tonight at Great American Field for their third consecutive loss and dropped their record to 87-72.

LHP Jose Quintana started out well with three scoreless innings, but ran into trouble in the bottom of the fourth.

Quintana gave up a couple of walks to load the bases and then gave up a two-run double to 3B Joey Ortiz.

Quintana picked one out in the bottom of the fifth and was then taken out.

His final line was 4.1 innings, five hits, two runs, two walks and nine strikeouts.

RHP Phil Maton followed with 1.2 scoreless innings.

RHP Ryne Stanek then threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

RHP Reed Garrett came on in the bottom of the eighth and gave up a RBI single to SS Willy Adames and then walked Ortiz with the based loaded to bring in another run and was then taken out.

LHP Danny Young came in next and gave up a two-run single to 2B Andruw Monasterio.

The Met offense was held in check all night managing only two hits.

They went 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left four runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, September 29 at the Brewers at 3:10 p.m.
