Mets vs. Phillies Game 113 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7-6 tonight for their second consecutive win and improved their record to 52-61. RHP Seth Lugo got the start and had a difficult outing allowing five runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings. He gave up four walks and had eight strikeouts. He wound up with a no-decision. LHP Josh Smoker came in next and got one out in the bottom of the sixth. RHP Paul Sewald followed and recorded the last out in the bottom of the sixth inning and also pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning. LHP Jerry Blevins allowed the tying run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a solo homer by 2B Cesar Hernandez. RHP Hansel Robles was able to get the last two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and picked up his seventh win. RHP A.J. Ramos pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning and picked up his 22th save of the save and second as a Met.

CF Michael Conforto got the Mets offense started with a solo homer in the top of the second inning. LF Yoenis Cespedes hit a three-run homer in the top of the third inning. 2B Neil Walker and Cespedes hit RBI singles in the top of the fifth inning. SS Amed Rosario hit a go-ahead homer in the top of the ninth inning, the first of his career.
