The Met offense got off to a fast start in the top of the first after LF A.J. Ewing led off with a hit by pitch and then SS Francisco Lindor followed with a hit by pitch. 3B Bo Bichette followed with a single to load the bases.
LF Carson Benge came up next and drove in Ewing with a RBI single and CF Luis Robert Jr followed with a sacrifice fly to score Lindor.
In the top of the third, Bichette reached on an infield hit with one out and two batters later, Robert Jr delivered with a two-run homer. 1B Jared Young followed with a triple and then 2B Marcus Semien delivered with a RBI single to score Young.
In the top of the fourth, catcher Francisco Alvarez led off with a hit by pitch and Ewing and Lindor followed with walks to load the bases. Bichette came up next and broke the game open with a bases clearing double.
Benge followed with a walk and two batters later, Young drove in Bichette with a RBI single.
In the top of the fifth, Alvarez led off with a homer.
In the top of the seventh, Bichette doubled with one out and two batters later, Robert Jr drove in Bichette with a RBI single.
Mets LHP Sean Manaea had his best start of the season allowing one run on three hits in seven innings. He gave up no walks with 11 strikeouts. He picked up his fourth win and lowered his ERA to 4.13.
RHP Jack Weisenburger followed in his ML debut and closed it out with two scoreless innings allowing one hit with two strikeouts.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Monday, August 10 at the Atlanta Braves at 7:15 p,m.
