After a scoreless top of the first, RF Carson Benge singled to lead off the top of the second and three batters later, 3B Brett Baty singled. 2B Marcus Semien followed with a RBI single.
In the top of the third, 1B Jared Young singled with one out and then LF Luis Robert Jr followed with a double. Baty followed with a two-run double to score Young and Robert Jr.
In the top of the fifth, DH Bo Bichette hit a solo homer.
Mets LHP Sean Manaea cruised through the first five innings allowing two hits and a walk with four strikeouts, however it all imploded for Manaea in the bottom of the sixth.
He walked 1B Munetaka Murakami with one out and then gave up a two-run homer to 3B Miguel Vargas. Manaea then gave up solo homers to LF Randall Grichul and DH Colson Montgomery for back-to-back-to back homers. Manaea was able to recover and get the last two outs to finish out the inning and was then taken out.
His final line was six innings, five hits, four runs, two walks and four strikeouts.
LHP Nate Lavender followed with 1.1 scoreless innings.
RHP Daniel Duarte came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.
LHP Jefrey Yan came on in the bottom of the ninth and gave up a lead-off walk and three batters later, gave up a walk-off two-run homer to catcher Jake Rogers.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Saturday, August 22 at the White Sox at 7:10 p.m.
