Mets vs. Royals Game 2 Recap
The New York Mets defeated the Kansas City Royals today by a score of 2-0. Neil Walker provided the offense for the Mets with a 2 run homer. RHP Noah Syndergarrd was outstanding in 6 dominating innings with 9 strikeouts. He got out of several jams and showed a lot of composure. He gave up only 3 hits and 1 walk. He looked like an ace today. Jim Henderson pitched a terrific 7th inning in his Met debut retiring the Royals in order. Addison Reed pitched a scoreless 8th. Jeurys Familia had a 1-2-3 9th and picked up his 1st save of the year. This was a key win for the Mets since they needed to split their series against the Royals. They return to action on Friday in their home opener against the Royals. The pitching match-up is Jacob degrom vs. Jerad Eickhoff.
