Mets vs. Marlins Game 8 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins today 2-1 to snap their 4 game losing streak, The only runs the Mets scored today were on a two run single by catcher Kevin Plawecki in the 7th. Mets starter Logan Verrett was outstanding today in a spot start with 6 scoreless innings. He gave up only 3 hits and 2 walks. Jim Henderson struggled in the 7th inning and wound up loading the bases. Fortunately, Hansel Robles came in and picked up 2 huge strikeouts. Jerry Blevins received the win even after giving up a run in 2/3 of an inning. Jeurys Familia came in after that and picked up a 5 out save, which was his 2nd of the season. Hopefully the Mets can build off this win and go on a winning streak. They have an off day tomorrow and then go to Cleveland for 3 games this weekend.
