Mets vs. Phillies Game 5 Recap
The New York Mets lost to the Philadelphia Phillies today by a score of 5-2 and to lose two of three to the Phillies. Mets starter Matt Harvey gave up 3 innings in 6 innings to take the loss. His record is now 0-2 for the season. He was pitching well until the 6th inning where he gave up 2 runs. The Mets bullpen struggled today and gave up 2 runs in the 8th and 9th inning. Addison Reed gave up a run in the 8th. Logan Verrett gave up a run in the 9th. The only offense the Mets had was a 2 run homer by Yoenis Cespedes. The Mets offense has struggled so far, but it's a very long season. There is a lot of baseball left to be played. Their bats will begin to wake up soon.
