The offense was held scoreless for the first three innings until the bottom of the fourth after RF Michael Conforto led off with a double and 3B J.D. Davis followed with a RBI double. SS Jonathan Villar then singled and then catcher James McCann grounded into a fielder's choice which brought home a run. In the bottom of the sixth, Conforto led off with a single and then two batters later Villar hit a two-run homer. In the following inning, 1B Pete Alonso came up with one hit and capped out a stellar series with a walk-off solo homer, which is the second walk-off homer of his career. RHP Trevor Williams made his first start as a Met after he was acquried from the Chicago Cubs along with Javier Baez and had a strong outing starting out well with four scorless innings. Williams ran in trouble in the top of the fifth after he gave up a double to SS Adrian Sanchez and a single to catcher Tres Barrea and was taken out. RHP Seth Lugo came in next and then gave up a sacrifice fly to pinch-hitter Yadiel Hernandez, but retired CF Victor Robles to end the inning. RHP Trevor May came on in the top of the seventh and got into trouble and loaded the bases and was then taken out. RHP Jeurys Familia came in next and threw a wild pitch which brought in a run and then a two-run single to LF Andrew Stevenson. Familia was able to strike out 1B Ryan Zimmerman two batters later to keep the game tied. The Mets next game is tomorrow night at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers at 7:10 p.m.
