Mets vs. Dodgers Game 147 Recap

Mets RHP Noah Syndergarrd (Credits to Newsday.com)


The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-2 tonight to snap their two-game losing streak and improved their record to 76-71. RHP Noah Syndergarrd started out well with three scoreless innings, but it all unraveled for him in the top of the fourth inning after he walked RF Cody Bellinger on 4 pitches and allowed four runs in the innings. His final line was 5 innings, 4 runs, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. RHP Jeurys Familia came in next and gave up a run in 1 2/3 innings. LHP Luis Avialan gave up two runs in the top of the seventh inning on two hits and a walk. RHP Walker Lockett gave up a two-run homer in the top of the eighth to rookie pinch-hitter Edwin Diaz.

LF J.D. Davis drove in the first run of the game with a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning. SS Amed Rosario drove in a run on an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning. The offense had chances against Dodgers ace LHP Clayton Kershaw, but left seven runners on base and were 1-5 with runners in scoring position.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night at home against the Dodgers at 7:10 p.m.
