Mets vs. Braves Game 160 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Atlanta Braves 4-2 tonight and improved their record to 84-76. 1B Pete Alonso drove in the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer. It was Alonso's 52th homer which ties Yankees RF Aaron Judge's record in 2017 for most homers in a rookie season.. In the bottom of the third inning, SS Amed Rosario hit a RBI double. In the following inning, LF J.D. Davis hit a two-run homer.

RHP Marcus Stroman had a difficult top of the first inning allowing two runs on RBI singles by 3B Josh Donaldson and LF Nick Markakis, but settled down after that with five scoreless innings. His final line was 6 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. He picked up his fourth win in a Met uniform. RHP Jeurys Familia followed with a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Seth Lugo closed it out with  two scoreless innings in the top of the eighth and ninth innings and picked up his sixth save.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night at home against the Braves on FOX at 7:15 p.m.
