Mets vs. Braves Game 161 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-0 tonight for their second consecutive win and improved their record to 85-76. The offense was held scoreless for the first two innings until the bottom of the third inning after 3B Todd Frazier led off with a single and catcher Rivera followed with a two-run homer. In the next inning, first baseman Pete Alonso hit a solo homer for his 53th homer of the year, which broke Aaron Judge's Major League record  of 52 in 2017
for most homers in a rookie season.

LHP Steven Matz finished up strong in his final start of the year with six scoreless innings.. Matz gave up two hits and had five walks with seven strikeouts. He picked up his 11th win. RHP Jeurys Familia followed with a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Brad Brach came in next and threw a scoreless top of the eighth. RHP Edwin Diaz closed it out with a scoreless top of the ninth inning and picked up his 26rh save.

The Mets final game is tomorrow afternoon at 3:10 p.m. at home against the Braves.
