Post Game: Mets 7, Diamondbacks 3

Yesterday in Arizona, the Mets (5-6) defeated the Dbacks (4-11) by the score of 7-3. Below are the key highlights from the game:

Zack Wheeler started and pitched 6 1/3 innings surrendering 2 earned runs while picking up the victory. This was Wheeler's best start to date, as his breaking ball was spot on all game.

Lucas Duda was 4-5 in this game, picking up a couple of RBIs along the way. Lucas has swung the bat well this entire season, helping to anchor the middle of the lineup behind Wright and Granderson

Carlos Torres earned an 8 out save en route to the victory. Torres has had a phenomenal week beginning with the series in Atlanta.

Curtis Granderson and Juan Lagares both left this game with injury . Granderson crashed into the wall in the first, injuring his wrist, rib cage, and knee. Curtis stayed in the game for five innings before being taken out for precautionary reasons. Lagares, on the other hand, appeared to have pulled his hamstring and left the game immediately.

This was a nice win the for Mets, who can't wait to get home. Let's face it, the Diamondbacks stink. Blame it on the pitching or the Australia opening series, but the Dbacks look flat. The Mets took advantage and won the opening game of the three game set. If the Mets can take 2 of 3, they'll head home with a 5-4 road trip. I'd sign up for that any day of the week.
