Fantasy Update

For those of you who play Fantasy Baseball, you know that during the season guys get injured and it may be key to pick up that one guy who gets hot and carries your team to victory for a week or two. Here are a few guys that are probably on your free agent list and can really help your team out.

Chris Colabello: The Minnasota Twins first baseman and designated hitter is raking in the month of April, really getting off to a hot start. He's hitting .308 with 11 runs, 3 Homers, and 27 RBI. Now this may just be a rookie getting off to a hot start, but I believe he can least hitting next to Mauer in the middle of the order. He has great career numbers in the minors, and take advantage of his outfield eligibility while it lasts.

Carlos Ruiz: A catcher that can hit and available for pickup is very hard to find. Coming off a suspension and some injuries, he was not drafted in many leagues. For this reason he may be available in your league. He is on a tear right now with 1 Homer and 7 RBI in his last 6 games, also swatting multiple doubles along the way. This week he has 6 games at home in a friendly ballpark, Citizens Bank Field. Give him a look if you need a catcher or just a spot start catcher.

Chris Denorfia: If you may be in a deeper league and looking for sleepers, chances are this guy is still available and still putting up points. Every team needs that one guy who just gets his points every week and in the end is a solid contributor. If you are really digging, Denorfia is a great pick. He's hitting .324 with 1 Homer and 7 RBI. His value really comes from his 4 SB and his ability to hit doubles in a spacious Petco Park. He gets to play Arizona at the end of the week, a team that has a terrible pitching staff so take advantage of the matchup.
